Effective the first of this year, minimum wage has increased and there are new pay rules for agricultural employees in California.

To help clarify expectations for ag employers, click here for a printable table showing the schedule for the phasing in of ever-lower daily and weekly hours at which a non-exempt agricultural employee in California may work at the employee’s regular rate of pay.

The table also shows increases in the California minimum wage scheduled over the next several years, along with consequent increases in the minimum monthly salary that a manager or supervisor will have to receive to be exempt from overtime, minimum wage, and time-recordkeeping requirements in California.
